Granny and Papa

Day 5
Today you'll hear from Granny and Papa. When I hear Brandon talk about his childhood it almost always includes the sentence, "Granny and Papa were there" or "Granny and Papa took me". One way or another Granny and Papa were always around. Living down the street from his Granny and Papa made it easy to be close and be with them almost everyday. But even if they didn't live close, Granny and Papa wouldn't miss an event or anything that was important to the boys. Brandon has mentioned too many memories to even count with Granny and Papa. He talks about going to their house everyday after school and Granny making homemade fries for them while they play outside in the canyon or go fishing in the pond nearby. Or when Papa made Brandons first set of golf clubs just his size when he was a toddler. Papa taking him golfing every chance they had. He has said more that once he thanks his Papa for his love for golf. He talks about the golf tournament in Arizona that only him and Granny went to, or the golf tournament in Louisana that Papa took him to. Driving Papas old blue truck around their house at 13 years old. Finding christmas presents months after Christmas Granny tucked away in a closet. Grannys cooking.. chicken and dumplings. Or the time the boys called Granny to come get them cause "Mom" was in a bad mood. And of course Granny did. The fishing trip with Papa when they caught 60 crappie. The memories are endless. Its amazing how close Brandon and his Granny and Papa have stayed. Papa and Grannys support and advice means so much to us. We are blessed they are close to us and have been able to see Brandon grow into and amazing adult and have their first Great Grandchild.

Now for a few words from Granny and Papa.

Brandon,
Your birthday is about to roll around again…
The day before you were born, your momma & I told your Daddy & Papa not to go back to Lawton.  They had not been gone long til your mom started having labor pains.
We drove to the hospital, and the rest is history……
We saw you go through surgery, to Taco Bell, Golf, Lacey & Kennedy & everything in between.
We wouldn’t change a thing and it’s been a blast watching you grow into the wonderful young man you are today.

We will ALWAYS be there for you.
Love you forever & ever!!!!

Happy Birthday
Granny & Papa

PS: Hope we have MANY more years with you.
